The accreditation exercise on laparoscopic surgery was started in 1998 and revised in 1999. All members of the College or doctors with equivalent qualifications who have acquired adequate surgical operative experience in gynaecological laparoscopy can apply to be accredited for the Intermediate Level expertise. Only Fellows of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent can apply to be accredited for the Advanced Level.
